X'mas Celebration Party 2006
An event jointly organised by students from NUS Business Admin Faculty

What a blast! Santa Claus, cherished gifts, stupendous games, and some good old cheer brought the spirit of Christmas to our grounds.

Last December, our Bizaders hosted a Christmas Party for trainees and volunteers of the MINDS Youth Group. The five of us (Zandra, Wilson, Yan Ling, Kwun Kit and I) were roped in through the BBA Enhancement Program, supported by our ever-willing BBA Office.

With little opportunity to catch our breaths following the exams, the time scarcity provided an exciting challenge. Be it drafting the programme, gathering our logistics, or setting up stall, we developed an insatiable focus. Shopping for Christmas ornaments was great, only topped by the dreamy daze of decorating the HSS Auditorium.

Finally, the hour dawned, as the first group of trainees streamed into the auditorium. Fortunately, their wide eyes and effervescent smiles relieved our anxious minds. As Santa hustled around with his goodie sack of sweets and chocolates, the trainees were thrilled by a suspenseful 'Pass the Parcel' game. With three hundred persons squeezed in, the auditorium was a festival of vibrancy and energy.

It was hectic as we ran the indoor and outdoor segments concurrently. While some trainees made merry with paper and cotton wool at 'Santa Dress-up', others fussed over pictures of reindeers and Christmas trees with their crayons.

Outside, it was a delightful exuberance of amusement and excitement. Teams battled at mock bowling contests and balloon relays, and their competitive instincts entertained all. Creative improvisation and hilarious mishaps benefited much laughter and enjoyment.

As we wrapped our blitz of activities, everyone snuggled into the warmth (it was drizzling outside!) of the auditorium. The trainees munched on snacks, while the MYG volunteers and ourselves led the singing of Christmas carols. At last, the trainees took turns to embark on stage for the unveiling of their Christmas presents, and we bade our final farewell to them.

Our participation has added a refreshing dimension to our Bizad experience. The unconditional and earnest journey has infused much meaning into our hearts. We were humbled for the grace to share the joy and hope of Christmas with the many wonderful people of MINDS Youth Group.
