Where all MYG projects will come under one roof for a 2 Day 1 Night camp. Definitely, the Event to look forward to! As the theme "Camp Rock" suggests, there will be lots of music and dance throughout the camp. Why Camp Rock? The music Rocks! The programs Rocks! The campsite Rocks! Literally lots of rocks and pebbles around the campsite! Look out for more updates on ACID Camp 's blog: acidcamp.blogspot.com. Words from MINDS MYG Chairperson: One of the most memorable moments of ACID was when the power tripped before disco night and yet our trainees, Volunteers and the volunteer guitar connection continued singing and dancing. The electric atmosphere captured the essence of this year's ACID - daring to try out new activities and improvising wherever necessary. There were many firsts too, including the mass cupcake making, campfire and involvement of many external volunteers. I overheard one of the ROvers asking an MYG volunteer what it is like to be a volunteer and what do we do on a weekly basis. Another volunteer SMSed after the camp to say that he wants to be an MYG volunteer as well and is already looking forward to next year's camp. They were moved by the warmth and friendship that they experienced. I would say that many of us had our apprehensions when first informed about the venue. But the ACID committee and all the other volunteers have done an excellent job in organising one of the most unusual camps ever. Really touched as well by all the project volunteers who spontaneously helped out in their own way. Thanks to each and every trainee and volunteer who have contributed to making ACID 2011 so fun and rewarding. As volunteers, the care of our trainees must always be our top priority and it is good to remind ourselves that even though the good we do today might be forgotten tomorrow, it doesn't matter. We should still continue to do our best. Gerald Ng |
