Title: MYG Learning Day 2011: Activity Therapy for Social Skills Date: 6th August 2011 Time: 09:30 - 17:00 Venue: HomeTeamNS @ Bukit Batok (Bukit Batok Clubhouse, 2 Bukit Batok West Ave 7, 659003) Conducted by acclaimed creative arts therapist, Ms Caroline Essame. (the same therapist who conducted last year’s creative arts training) The workshop combines the theory of social skills development and practical for a comprehensive understanding of Activity Therapy for Social Skills. Activities will be tiered according to trainees profile, thus the session will start off with group profiling at 9.30am. Key areas covered: - Building social skills through drama, art and bodywork - Role play: Understanding group dynamics & tips for running groups The venue, though a little inconvenient for some, boasts a large hall and 6 discussion rooms, which will be great for interactive hands-on learning with our trainer. The session will end at 1pm and lunch will be served. There will be a choice of yummy Fish & Chips or savory Chicken Chop :) === There will also be an Inter-project BOWLING event, at the same venue, from 2pm onwards. This time round, we've paired all our projects together to play against one another in a series of match ups. Each project will have 6 lanes, the score for each pair will be added up and pitted against other pairs and tallied at the end of the day. NO WORRIES, leave the maths to us! Just come down and catch up with us! Pairings: 1) Terra Hope + Children Wing 2) RSPID + Basic Knowledge Training Group 3) Guillymard + Fernvale 4) Ang Mo Kio + East Point 5) West End + Reach Out There will be prizes available at the end of the day for different achievements! Interested MYG Volunteers, please inform your respective project chairs on your attendance. For more information on Learning Day, please contact Daphne aka Hui Qi at 9047 9596. For more information on the Inter-project Bowling Event, please contact Xiang Hui at 9824 6757. Hope to see you there! Location Map can be found here. ----------------------------------------------------- Words of thanks from our Training Officer: Hello Volunteers! Thank you for waking up extra early on this Saturday morning to attend our annual Learning Day. The record turnout of 90 volunteers is really encouraging, and I hope that you have gained some new knowledge, been inspired some new ideas and made some new friends. Most importantly, I hope that you have enjoyed yourselves today J Thank you project chairs, for your enthusiasm and support for the event! This is my third year in the central committee as a training officer and year on year, the support from the projects has been increasing and I hope this trend will continue. Once again, please give me your honest feedback for the training activities so that we can continue to bring relevant trainings to the volunteers. Special thanks to our dear boss, Gerald and VA Coordinator, Xiang Hui, who have willingly volunteered themselves to be my slaves for the event. =)
Mark your calendars! Moving forward, the next training session is on 24th September @ SIA-MINDS. There is an orientation for new volunteers from 10am to 12 noon, and ACID Preparation Briefing from 12.30pm to 2.30pm. It is compulsory for each project to have some representatives to attend the ACID Preparation Briefing. More details will be sent out soon. That is all for now and see you all next time! =) Cheers
P.S. Any volunteers interested to join me in planning the upcoming training activities? *Looking for a successor* ----------------------------------------------------- HELLO GUYS AND GIRLS, ALL 75 AND MORE!!! |
