ACID 2017 (Annual Camp for the Intellectually Disabled 2017)
Dates: 17-18 June 2017
Venue: National Junior College (
37 Hillcrest Rd, Singapore 288913)
Theme: "Camp SHIOK"

About
Being the most looked forward event in MINDS MYG’s annual calendar, ACID 2017 promises to create a new, refreshing and interactive experience for our beneficiaries and volunteers.

This year, the camp theme - “SHIOK!” would upscale familiar games to life-sizes, creating a visual impact to our beneficiaries. For the 2 days, our beneficiaries would experience a whole lot of fun going through each of the super-sized stations; as well as have the opportunity, to be exposed to various unique workshops to foster their creativity.

Highlights include: Pedal Karts, Giant Jenga, Night Trail (first in ACID!) and interactive workshops!

Unsung Heroes
The composition of this year’s organizing committee is slightly different: a good mix of MINDS MYG volunteers and student volunteers from previous years. Working in an 18-men team, this is by far one of the smallest committees for ACID.

The planning and preparations of ACID 2017 began as early as Oct 2016. To ensure that we fulfill our own goals of creating a different and enjoyable experience for our beneficiaries, we experimented with many crazy ideas and made multiple trips to the new camp ground. Our committee also took extra efforts to meet almost every day to make the props from scratch, staying back as late as 10pm.

If it wasn’t hard, everyone would do it. It’s the hard that make it great. ~Tom Hanks

Special thanks to our sponsors for ACID 2017
Finally, the ACID 2017 organising committee would like to extend our utmost gratitude to our sponsors, for sharing their corporate generosity with our MINDS MYG beneficiaries. Without them, we would not have the opportunity to give our camp participants a “SHIOK!” camp experience!

We would also like to thank Sarah, an individual, who would be conducting a series of yoga workshops during the camp.
